Jonny Letson

My name is Jonny Letson and I ask for your vote on November 8, 2022.  I am running for Morgan County Commission District 2.  I am running on the Libertarian Party ticket.  I have been a practicing libertarian for 25 years.

I have lived in Hartselle, Alabama for 18 years.  I am originally from Lawrence County, Alabama.  I work in Huntsville, Alabama as a Software Engineer for Abaco Systems.  I have been working there for 20 years.

My main issues include taxes, election access, and limited government.  As Morgan County Commissioner for District 2 I would make it a priority to reduce the county sales tax by 1/2 percent. I would also work with local municipal governments to also cut their sales tax by 1/2 percent.  That would make cities in Morgan County have the lowest sales taxes in North Alabama.  That could help everyone and create economic activity.

I would also work with state legislature to abolish the draconian Alabama election laws to allow for more choices and more access for voters.

All while working on these things, I will also reduce government power locally to allow for more individual liberty and ingenuity.
